RUNE SONNEVILLE
Photographer
I'm Rune Sonneville, a 25-year-old creative originally from the Belgian countryside, now living and working in Ibiza as an interior designer. My artistic journey began at Sint Lucas, where I studied Fine Arts, followed by a specialisation in Interior Design at KU Leuven's Saint Lucas in Ghent. Outside of my work, my camera is my constant companion, A passion that started at the age of fifteen when I "borrowed" my mother's old analog camera.
Since then, analog photography has remained my preferred medium. For me, photography is more than just capturing images; it's a language beyond words, a way to make emotions and moments tangible without explanation. My photographs reveal the hidden beauty of the everyday and the deeper layers of reality. At In Between Ibiza, I bring this vision to life, blending it with the island's unique atmosphere, where time and meaning move freely.
About her artwork:
This series of prints is a response to the common misconception about the island. Many people know Ibiza as a party paradise, but with this edition film photo series, I want to challenge that perception. One could say that only about 20% of the island is party-related, while the rest is filled with breathtaking locations that never fail to leave me in awe. Time and time again, Ibiza surprises me with its raw beauty and depth. That's why this series has no name, only coordinates. It's an invitation, not a statement. Only those truly drawn to the essence of these images will feel compelled to explore the story behind them.
