Kara Marshall
Kara Marshall, also known as Tuft Luck Studio, is an English mixed-media artist whose work bridges the worlds of textile art and painting.
While tufting introduced her to the tactile world of arts, her love for watercolour painting emerged in 2021 when her fiancé gifted her a watercolour set. Fascinated by the movement and layering possibilities of the medium, she developed a distinctive style that evokes texture and depth, making her paintings appear almost touchable. Her work is heavily inspired by ‘70s pop culture, Western movies, vintage pornography, galloping horses, and powerful, unapologetic women—recurring motifs that blend nostalgia with a contemporary edge.
There’s a natural connection between her dreamy, ethereal watercolours and the island’s unique energy. Just as her paintings capture movement and mood, Ibiza embodies a spirit of freedom and creativity that resonates with her work.
Whether through tufted textiles or fluid watercolours, Marshall’s art is an invitation to explore texture, nostalgia, and the raw beauty of the Wild West reimagined through her lens.
